I bet you didn’t even realize we were missing…well, we were. And it’s been almost a year since our last post…but it’s been a good, crazy year and we are back with a renewed focus and some big plans.
Did you know you don’t need to take classes or be certified to be a travel counselor? I didn’t know that, but I’m doing it anyway because I want to be confident in my abilities to help people travel and then share that experience. To do this, I’ve been taking classes in Travel Marketing. I’m in the last phase of my Travel courses through Los Medanos College. I have only one or two left and then will have that certificate in my hand.
What then? Well, I’m not waiting until then. I’ve signed up with a host agency, Gateway Travel, so I can get started now! This agency has a lot of really awesome things going for them…in addition to those, they are also Gateway to Magic, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. This means I have access to booking travel for Disney destinations around the world and updates regularly from Disney on new additions, renovations, and specials. This might be the most exciting part. You may have noticed that we are Disnerds – take a look to see for your self.
The other aspect of this is a travel blog. We’ve had the good fortune to be able to travel far and wide. We want to share that with you, encourage you to do the same and then share that with us. You’ll notice we are called Ink & Pen and Ink & Pen Adventures. I’m a firm believer that to remember all the cool things we do, we need to document them. That may be in photos, in writing, in painting or drawing. Whatever way, I feel it’s imperative to do it. So, that’s what we are going to do:
We’ll be looking for guest bloggers within the next few months as well since our travel schedule is lightening up due to some Shakespeare projects I’m taking on (Lori, that is!) However, we have a few years of travel documenting to catch up on, so stay tuned.
Can I share my goal? I hope to post 2 posts a week centered around travel, documenting travel, travel planning, travel accessories, planning/planners and so on. Keep me honest? Did I mention this is also a final project for my advanced travel class? Yeah, it is.
Thank you for joining us on this journey!
